Default Honda 350 Rancher ES

Hey

I´m from sweden soo i´m not 100% on english. But the problem is with a friends Honda 350 Rancher ES model TRX350FE1 think it´s a -03 maybe -02. With the electric shifter. Two buttons up and down for shifting.

The problem is now that it doesn´t start and you can´t shift down. It doésn´t start because of the shifter is in gear 5. If I push the gear down button it comes sound from the gear engine and i feel it moves. And also the gear pin that sticks out is moving. But the gear is not going down. On the display it is a 5.

When it broked I was in 1st gear and wanted to go to neautral but it didnt work, so i went up and ended in 5 gear.

I´ve tried helping to gear down with a wrench on the gear pin but doesn´t help. I´ve loaded the battery. Clean connectors.

Searched the web and found some problem with a tiltlever in front of the engine, I have not changed that but it sounds like that on the machines with that kind of problem the gear engine doesnt work. On my machine the gear engine is working, maybe not fully......I dont know.

Somebody? Help a sorrow swedish meatball out.

This is a known problem on the ES. Keep checking back here, and someone will guide you in the right direction fairly quickly. Good luck

Have you tried to shift the unit back down with the emergency shifter ?
If it will not shift down manually, this is most likely the issue
Under the front engine cover there is a shift arm plate that turns the star wheel on the shift drum. Sounds like one of the tabs on the shift arm plate bent or broke.
Honda has an updated part number for it and also a kit available to repair the issue. The kit number here is 24600-HN5-305

hope this helps, my friend
