I have a '97 Yamaha Big Bear 350, and I was wondering if there were any other owners of that specific year. Also, are there any of you that have a receiver hitch, if so, who did you purchase it from?
Thanks,
Chris

I have a 98 Big Bear Special Edition (348 cc, 10 speed/dual range tranny, winch, oversized fenders etc.) This bike has been a total (as well as very dependable) workhorse. I have a Yamaha 48" plow on it (seen tons of use this winter already and it can move ****loads of snow) and it has dragged/lugged several moose, countless deer and way too many friends on its racks in the last 3 years (just paid off the loan in December of 2000!!) I have performed just the basic maintenance myself (one thing it does is EAT brake pads/shoes both front and back) changing my oil (engine/front/rear diff) way more often than is called for. This bike has performed flawlessly (it even recovered after being totally submerged and eating major amounts of water in a semi-frozen sippy hole in the middle of a Canadian winter!!!) and I ride it year round. I have just recently put heated hand grips on it along with a thumb throttle heater. Hope to be taking out my icehut this coming weekend and these latest add-ons should be real nice.

99 Big Bear 350 4x4, used specifically for work.(Surveying, construction site work)
Good, reliable machine.
Notes:
-This time of year, with mud, water, and snow, the shift assembly can get iced up. The other day for instance I could only upshift.
- Tires are not real tough.

If I were to replace it today, I would probably try the Kodiak.

My first bike was a 97 Big Bear 350, I just sold it a week ago. The only reason I sold it was I found a 97 Big Bear 350 SE with high/low range, reverse from any gear and a speedometer with only 300 miles on it so I upgraded. I put a Warn 2000 winch 48" plow, hand guards and boot protectors on it and am very happy with it. What else would you like to know?
Phil

I've had my '97 4x4 for two months now and I love it. It has low hours and I bought it from a friend so i know the bike. I had an '87 Honda 350 Fourtrax 4x4 and I now realize that it was a real tank compared to the Bear. I've been driving all winter so far inspite of the amount snow with no problems. I plan on ditching the stock tires for a set of Bearclaws in a few months. The heated grips and thumb throttle do come in handy this time of year.
