Has anyone removed their plastic foot guards? What do you use to replace the rear plastic supports that are integral with the stock guard frame? Especially the RH side which also has the rear brake master cylinder mount bracket as part of the framing. I don't really like my foot guards, as I wear a size 13 shoe, and find the guards restrictive. Tell me what you guys have done to eliminate the guards and still retain proper rear fender support and the master cylinder mount.

I took those plastic guards off mine to put the nerf bars on. On the right side I simply cut the bracket off flush at the main part of it that mounts to the bike, this way you can still attach the rear fender and master cylinder to it like stock and you can't even tell it was cut. On the left side I made a new bracket out of about a 3 inch piece of steele and it works great too.

I took a piece of 1" aluminum. Bent it at a 90 degree angle then held it up to were the fender mounts are. You have to twist it some to get it at the same angle as the fender. Then mark the holes and drill them. On the master side leave the bracket longer(towards the swingarm) Then drill another hole to mount the resivor. You cant use the gaurd anymore(unless your into serious fabing) but doing it this way moves it closer to the frame anyways.
