i take the plug out and it's covered in gas and black ****. have to clean off and it usually starts fine after that. will run fine for a bit then exaust starts puffin black. any ideas what to check next. am i not burning fuel or getting too much gas? any help will help.

Given the machines age, I would say that the rings are worn out and are passing oil into the combustion chamber. Time for a rebuild.......

 

Might need to adujst the fuel mix to when i jetted my bike it had a lot of gas on the plugs i got it just right and now it burns clean.
