Default Kolpin Fuel Pack

I have an 08 800 sportsman. I am interested in the Kolpin Fuel Packs. Anyone have any input on them? I read somewhere that new versions leak a lot. I have access to a first generation 3.5 gallon one.

Will the first generation ones fit with rack extenders? It's 36 inches long. The newer 4 gallons version is 34 1/4 inches long.

Any other ideas for carrying extra fuel? Anyone have suggestions on mounting? I know they have brackets for them.

They make a accessory bracket, not sure if it holds the larger ones.

This it just there small 1.5 gallon but thats still a extra 20 miles of riding for you rather than walking.

I myself carry a 2 1/2 foot long, large dia. gas line and siphon from other ATVs like a parasite.

I was all set to order one of their bigger flat packs until I read all the bad reviews on the Cabela www site about them leaking. A fine example of Chinese QA.

Kolpin does make a flat one that is designed to fit on the front or rear rack. That's the one I was asking about. I heard the newer version of that one leaks from the spout.

I myself don't worry about the price of gas for the quads I have. I however worry about the price of gas that I use in my Yukon. I use e85 ethanol and its now $2.99 a gallon in Pittsburgh. Regular 87 is $3.29 and rising here. When ethanol first hit the market here about 2 years ago it was about $1.85 a gallon!

Yes that is what I was looking for.............They say ventless...........And 800 pound load...........I could park my SP 450 on them!!!..........I really don't know how much I would need it though!!!.....I carry two one gallon gas cans in my rear storage box when on long rides......But never did need them yet .......I seem to find gas pumps somewhere except Elliot Lake(North 30 miles) where the lodge we say at gets the power from the water hydro dam!!!.........No gas or Hydro power for miles ......Need to take Fuel with us for the 3-4 days when we go!!!!............Caper....
