Stripped rear axle help on Scrambler 500
#1
I stripped the threads on one side of the rear axle on my 2001 Scrambler 500.
Its the threads for one of the nuts that holds the rear housing in place (not the splines for the wheels).
Any idea if this can be fixed (I doubt it - they are fine threads!!)?
Anyone know of a place with good prices of new axles for this model?
Thanks all!!!!!

The bearing carrier.
Had new bearings installed a month ago and noticed that there was some play in th rear. The dealer stated to try and tighten those nuts a little to tighten up the rear. I tightened it very very slightly (I have heard how these are easy to strip) and then it happened!!!
Looking at the threads afterwards, they were pretty rusted and i think that contributed.
