Default Help me find a quad for the wife

My wife wants a quad but it has to have the following:

- Automatic
- 2WD
- power

She's only 5'2" about 120lbs so I'm kind of torn as to what to get her. The only "sport" quad that would have everything she's looking for would be a Kawi v-force but I have never been a big fan, and I think its a little more weight wise than she can handle. I really wish Can-am made a smaller 2WD Renegade 650 that came in uder 500lbs but that does not exist.

I know there is not much but what other options are out there that are 2WD autos with some power...

Scrambler 500's have plenty of power for your little wife.

Also look into a Z250, they are a good little bike, and fairly cheap.

Sounds like my wife.

May want to look at a used Polaris Trail Blazer. If you don't mind 2 strokes. Easy to work on, and the power is there, you just have to make a few mods.

They do make the DS250, but having one I bought for the wife, I couldn't recommend it. Actually bought it to replace her Trail Blazer. After a few rides, she decided she liked the Blazer better.

I bought my wife the KFX700 (V-force)... She loves it! It has plenty of power, handles pretty good and is VERY easy to ride!!! It's got reverse and is comfortable for her....but I like to size and the ride of my DS better. Had to soften the suspension a little for her becuase she dosen't have the wieght nor does she ride aggresive enough terrain for the shocks in the factory setup.

I really enjoy riding it also. Great woods and trails and even better that my DS where I ride those type of areas. I wish she would ride more. The thing sits now and she's getting out of going riding with our group anymore. I might have to sell it and let it go. I'll still have two remaining quads in the stable. That my 2-cents!!
Good Luck

You could also consider a Polaris sport 400. It a 2 stroke with reverse. Had a buddy that had one with a few mods on it and it was really peppy.

Should be able to find an older one for cheap as well.

I always told him it was a chicks quad - LOL.

I, too, recommend the Sport 400. It has been the pinnacle of reliability for me. We've owned our 99 since new in August of 99.

With a clutch mod and a top end pipe they are quite quick. Easy to pull the front tires when you want to. My wife loves ours. She rode her Grandpa's 250 Polaris and just felt that it was too weak.

They have enough utility to have an optional trailer hitch and you can get front and rear racks for them if you want. I even plow snow with ours.

It is 2wd, very reliable, Automatic (Has reverse), easy to work on and powerful (2-stroke).

But if you meant that chicks dig it, you are indeed correct.
