Winch mounts on a 420 - how much plastic trimming/modification?
#1
I have the 2WD and just want to put a Warn RT15 or RT25 for backup. (I'm a hunter, not a mudder).
I see that many of the mounts mention plastic trimming, but I don't want to butcher my new ride too much. Plus, I'm not one of those guys with a real steady hand.
What have you guys run in to when installing the mount plates?

I installed a Warn 2.5 on my '05 (350) Rancher 2WD, and did not have to cut any plastic to make it fit - maybe the 420s are different (??) BTW, i used the Warn mounting plate.

We just use a die grinder to trim the plastic bumper cover ..

I cut mine the same way, except i did not cut the top piece of plastic. It did not come into contact with my winch.
