good bikes just not as good as the 250r fourtrax. the 88' and above are better because they come with 6 speed where the 87 come with 5

the 500 is wicked fast but is not nearly as reliable as a 250. whouls rather have a nice 250r with a 310 kit than a zilla.

The quadracers were good machines in their time, and are still a good machine to have fun on and rip around with. The problem as that these things are getting old now, and since the last one was built in 1992, that's over 15 years since they've been in production. That really hurts the aftermarket support, and even trying to find factory replacement parts can be a real challenge when you break something.

Although the quadzilla is one of the fastest production quads in history, it's also in the top-5 list for being the most unreliable, and most likely to grenade. Owning a quadzilla could be compared to owning a ticking time bomb.

They are decent quads. Geometry problems in the front end is the only thing that really ever held them back because after the 85/86 models, they actually had a better motor than the Honda stock. For the record, '87 was the model year they switched motors and frames a bit, and went to the 6 speed tranny. '87 had the same intake as the 500 and was the fastest year motor wise out of the box. The later model years are still more coveted though due to a number of improvements to the rest of the machine. They are a lot of fun though, and let me tell you, get an '87+ with the CT national engine kit and you have a rocket on your hands.
