Default Magnum 500 rear axle assembly help

I have a 1999 Mag 500 and the previous owner did not reassemble the rear axle correctly. I am trying to get the order to assemble the axle, clip, bearings and spacer. He (the idiot) put the clip on before installing the bearing carrier!
So is it Axle, inner bearing, clip, spacer, outer bearing????
Or does the clip go on outboard of the bearing spacer?
The fiche doesn't show it nor does the service manual that I could see.

Any thoughts??

Thanks,
D.J.

o wow that is way diff from my scrambler the scrambler just has the bearing pressed into the bearing carier aand then the sprocket then nut then the spacer goes over teh nut to keep it from moving then the snap ring holds the spacer on. let me check my shop manuel for the diagram maby i will scan it and put it up here for you if i get a chance. o i just relized it was a shaft drive right?

You can find the diagram of the parts at:
http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp

Look under SWING ARM/REAR GEARCASE MOUNTING for the order of bearings/clip/spacer

Sprinter
Thanks for the help.
That is one messed up way to retain the axle.
How the heck tdo they expect you to get the outer bearing out while the axle is still part way in and not ruin it. And putting the clip back on wayyyy down in the axle tube is gonna be a blast.

If they'd just engineer the clip to go outside the bearing set it would much simpler!!!!!
