I am not sure what the normal temp is Mitch, but if you are running hot, my guess is you are a little on the lean side....

Mine runs between 185 - 195 most times. It will hit 200 when in hot weather running hard. I have the same gauge.

200 is alot on that 730 mrds650 but come to think about it I do run mine as rich on the power jets as I can and turn on the fan when I go ridding after it gets up to 140 so I wont forget about it.

With shrouds, engine ice, ODP high flow water pump, NO fan - I normally run 175-180 on my ESR gauge. In really hot weather or putting around with my son it will get up over 200. I find that slow riding brings temps up more than anything on the DS. Running hard it does not get all that hot because it keeps a constant flow of air moving through that big ol radiator...

I have the same gauge, one of the best mods I did.

Mine runs right around 175 to 185 all the time. I was running shrouds but sold them as even duning at 95+ temps the fan only kicked one once in a while when the temp hit 200 while I was going real slow, and then the fan only runs for a few seconds to drop the temp back down.

I run 1/3 Anti Freeze to 2/3 distilled water and Red Line Water Wetter. This gives me freeze protection to 0 and boil over to 265ish due to the 15Lbs radiator cap.
Water has a better thermal transfer than AF, and it also has a lower viscosity. Doing this mix gives me the protection from corrosion, freezing, and overheating I need plus flows better with less strain on the impeller.
