Default POLARIS 500 08 Winch Install

I just bought a brand new 08 Polaris 500 Sportsman EFI H.O. I bought a Gorilla 3000 lb. winch and I'm in the process of installing it. I'm taking my time and trying to do a neat job. I just need to know where to install the Contactor/Solenoid block.
I'm a first time ATV'R and I need it for hunting. Getting old and have some injuries. Thanks In Advance!

there is a black box/sheild under the right front wheel well with holes and every thing
I had to take my front fenders, in your case the green part to get to it
good luck

WOW! Thanks Tyler!
I see it. I don't have to drill any holes as there are two @ 4" apart.
It looks like the fender will have to come off somewhat. I have two other questions.
Is it OK to hook the power leads, (black/red), directly to the battery like the instructions say?
Also, my winch came with an extra REMOTE and a three prong female plug.
Where would be a good location for the plug and would I ever use this wired remote?

THANKS AGAIN!

ok first off your bike should be prewired
easiest way to check is look under the left rear fender
if there is a red wire with yellow shrink wrap on it it just needs to be connected directly to the battery
then trace the wire up to the front of the bike it runs along the top of the left frame rail right beside the air box it is lable winch wire
it ends up front near that black sheild
with the gorilla contactor you need to cut the wires apart, because they are together in a plastic cluster type thing
I had to use the dremel tool to cut it apart but you could use a hack saw

LIFE IS GOOD! Just got the fender off. There are two wires with a rubber cover that say Remove For Winch. Bingo! Also I see an orange (keyed hot wire) I'll use for the handlebar remote. I see the red wire near the battery and it has a Yellow cover on it. So I'm glad you clued me in that it needs to be hooked-up. I,m not sure I undestand what you mean by cutting the block/wires. THANKS!
Back to the garage.

Never mind Tyler, I know what you mean. The existing wires on the ATV in the shield. You think I should hook-up the remote while I'm at it?
