Default quad loncin 90cc won't start HELP PLEASE?

My sons 90cc quad has been standing for about 6 months now, outside but covered. Not sure exactly what make it is but has loncin written on the side of the engine and I've been told its 4 stroke but not absolutely sure. It has 2 remote key fobs with it and I believe it is alarmed. I've took the body casing off it to give me a clear view. Also took the battery (high gt5-3) off attached it to a new battery charger, which is now reading fully charged. I think the battery is 12V 4amps. Took spark plug out and that looks clean (ngk cr6hsa) but I'm going to change this as a precaution. I'm not sure but I think the quad is a chinese import but I've also been told that it hasn't had that much use and the owner before us bought it from new. The bike is turning over from the fob but not from the switch and consequently the battery doesn't hold the charge for long. Although I am new to quads, I do own a motorbike and I've worked on cars over the years, so I am familiar with the tools but unfortunately not with one of these machines. I believe there's a kill switch on there but I'm not sure where it is. When we first had the quad it was working fine and being used frequently. Please help if you can as I'm desperate to make my 12 yr old son happy!!! Also there are 4 bolts that hold the handlebars in place and one of them snapped. I managed to remove it but now need a replacement, could anyone help with this?
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!
MIKE & SAM (son)

It would help to know what brand or model ATV you have as they can be wired differently. Without knowing I would check for spark, the simple method would be grounding the plug on the frame or motor while it is removed in a dark garage, then while trying to start it make sure you are getting a spark. If you have spark your kill or safety switch is not the problem as they kill the spark. Next check for gas getting to the engine and then of course the air filter for air...........................Slydog

HI..about the handlebars; If the bolt snapped, you may be able to get a replacement by going to allstarsalez on eBay. They have lots of replacement parts for Giovanni bikes ( chinese quads ) Also there are lots of other parts dealers (allstarsalez is Canadian, BTW). You could also try googling "chinese atv parts" and see what you can come up with. Surely you can find replacement parts somewhere. Good luck. Hope someone can help with mechanical issues as well.

Hi I also purchased a kids quad that sounds similar. The quads are not bad for them to start on however i have found the following.
1 The spark plug needs replacing or cleaning if they are stood for a while.
2 The switches including the cut outs and ignition switch tend not to like any sort water (try stripping them down and cleaning with wd40 or switch cleaner).
3 The batteries are poor quality i would recommend disconnecting it when the quad is not in use.

I hope this helps. I would also try spraying all of the cables with wd40 and make sure you run it completely dry of fuel when you are going to leave it standing or drain the old fuel.

Their i a company http://www.f1products.co.uk/ in Newcastle upon tyne they may not have the spares on the website but if you call them they will have them on the shelf.

hey guys i have a 90 cc quad and it doesnt start. everything seems to be fine on it. i am going to change the spark plug tomorrow and i just reconected the air filter. is there anything else i should do? please let me know as soon as you can since our riding season is coming up soon. there is no brand on the quad and it is also a 4 stroke. i also recharged the battery and put carb cleaner in. i also have a 90 cc eton quad that stopped running. everything is fine on it but it wont stay running. it back fired yesterday when i tried to start it and the air filter hose seems loose. would that be the problem?

thanks for your help
