Baja 50cc Brake question
#1
Purchased a baja 50cc for my daughter for Christmas. It has been running fine for the most part, it was sitting over the winter so I had to recharged the battery and drained the gas. My daughters has been riding everyday for about 5 days, ont he last day I dfound that it would not govery fast like the brakes were stuck so I had to park it, I took it to a local dealer and they told me that Baja is an inferior product and they would touch them. I have a extented warranty ( 3 years) howver the closer place to take is over an hour away. I was hoping I could fix the problem myself. Any sugestions

if you paid extra for the 3 year warranty, use it. take the atv to the baja service center. call them and make an appointment and see if you can wait for the repair. sometimes its the diagnosis that takes longer than the repair.

Check to make sure the caliper is not stuck. If not good luck finding someone that will do the warranty work. They called my shop in sept. of 2006 and begged us to do their warranty work for the units they sold through Pep Boys and Tractor
Supply. After they agreed to pay me my labor rate I agreed to do the work even though I would not ever sell their junk. We had repairs come in from them every day and most weren't even a week old. They where supposed to pay me within 30 days of repair and never would. I finally was able to get paid for the first 3 repairs I did in June of 2007 (9 months later) Needless to say after a few months we had quit taking in their (warranty) repairs. I just told the customers they sent that they would not pay me so if they wanted us to still fix their units they would be responsible fot the repair cost. A warranty isn't worth the paper its written on if the issuer of said warranty will not stand behind it.... I still can't believe how many people brought in units that they said had never ran since purchased new and most where evident that they hadn't. Why would someone agree to buy anything without making sure it at least would start up before you load up and take it home, I guess because they where told ( IT has a 3 year warranty)..
