ive noticed alot of axles latly on ebay,..most ive seen are from 03 and older bikes...my 04 is bent pretty good,..

what is needed to put one of those axles in my bike?

arnt they a bit wider? other than the width,..will it just "bolt in"?

 

Yep, should bolt right on, I don't think that part ever changed.

 

where the sprocket hubclips on and where the clip that locks it in place is skinnier on the older axles i believe. i put a +2 durablue for an o4 in mine and had to machine where the clip was at for it to work in my 03 also had to shave about 1/2" down on the ends of my hubs to make it work.ended up being about the same width as mine stock when all said and done but got the axle for about a 100 dollars off ebay new.actually bought a spare i might part with.
