1986 Bayou 300 - Won't Start Cold
#1
I have a 1986 Bayou KLF300. The Carb was rebuilt last year. Recently, if the ATV sits for a week, it will not start. I have to put in Starting Fluid. After it runs for awhile, it will start immediately. But, the process starts again if it sits for a week.

Thank-you. I am going to tear in down this weekend. It almost appears to be a vacuum problem as if a rubber something has cracked, hardenend etc. And once it gets warm, the rubber expands.
I was hoping for an easy solution

Does it have the "pri" position on the gas valve? It might just need to be put in pri for 30 seconds, wiggle the bike a bit ( to get the gas to flow into the float bowl), and then try starting.

Thank-you. I took it apart this past weekend and it was in fact the choke. Somehow the choke cable et al was not working properly. The barrel was not working correctly in the carburetor chamber. After we realize the problem we put it back together and it works as new.
Thank-you once again.
Thank-you once again.
