Default How to check for spark

I have a quad that will turn over but won't fire. I put a new plug in and still no fire. How do I check to see if I'm getting spark, and if i'm not getting spark what could be the problems. Thanks Breck

just remove the spark plug, reinstall the spark plug wire to the spark plug, lay it on the cylinder to ground it, if it doesn't stay on its own then use a piece of duct tape to hold it in place then crank the engine over while looking at the spark plugs electrodes, while cranking you see a spark, if you see no spark make sure the handle bar switch in the run position, also the rear brake needs to be applied. if their's a red bottom on the switch press it in, then crank the engine over again and recheck for spark, still no spark start looking for a loose wire, this is one the the biggest problem with these chinese quads poor wiring connections
