Why does the Honda Rubicon cost more than the Yamaha Grizzly but the Rubicon has a smaller engine than the Grizzly.

 

new technology, new model, i like my grizz, but it is getting a little dated, no liquid cooling and a drum rear brake

 

Are you kidding, the Rubicon has a fancy tranny and thats it over the Grizzly.The Grizzly still has much power ,disk brakes in the front aleast and selectable 4wd.I,d say techno wise they are close.

 

Reasons the Honda cost more than the Grzzly:
1. Liquid cooling
2. Improved limited slip differential
3. Better instrumentation (speedo,clock,tripmeter,gear indicator etc.)
4. Extra headlight
5. Sealed Hydrostatic transmission.
6. Better suspension (front a-arms vs. struts)
7. Airbox not designed like a funnel for dirt and mud
8. IT'S A HONDA!

Actually in all seriousness- Larger displacement engines do not cost alot more to make, except for building the rest of the machine to handle the power, which the Rubicon and all other large bore quads already are. That's one of the main reasons.The liquid cooling alone probably justifies the price difference.
