fuel gauge

i have 2 2006 artic cats 400 can any one tell me why the fuel gauge dont read right sometimes they say full some time empty when full any answers

If it were a Harley. They would say it was "part of the Harley mystic" but since it is a AC. I guess it is "part of the AC mystic". I think they all do it, mine does.
