Timberwolf 250 charging problem
#1
My sons 92 timberwolf has always needed a new battery every year. This year we replaced it a few weeks ago, he has been riding almost every day. The other day he rode for a few hours, parked it, went to start it an hour later, and it was dead.
Pulled the battery- it was dry, added water, charged it, put it back, it started but battery died immediately.
We charged it again, put it in, let it run with headlights on, disconnected battery, headlights stayed on. I read here somewhere that means the regulator is good?
Any suggestions on what to try next, besides buy another battery-I know we need that again, but would like to not have to buy a battery every few weeks. I really don't want him getting stranded up in the woods.
Thanks!
