air filter oil

does anyone use regular motor oil on their foam air filter filter is still stock i got some spray on filter oil but it is so tacky i believe it will stop the filter up is there any difference in oem and aftermarket thanks travis

its suppose to be tacky. that's its job, to trap dust and dirt. better the filter than your motor. engine oil would do nothing to help the filter. a good alternative that isn't too tacky is marvel mystery oil. I've used it when I didn't have the right filter oil and it works good.

First off Regular motor oil Stinks.... literally and functionally... I use Spectro Foam Filter Oil for my stock air filter. Stuff works great! a 1 QT bottle last quite a while...

First off Regular motor oil Stinks.... literally and functionally... I use Spectro Foam Filter Oil for my stock air filter. Stuff works great! a 1 QT bottle last quite a while...

Thats a big 10-4 spectro filter oil is great I put my filter in a big gallon ziplock baggy and dump in the oil and mush it all around saves a lot of mess on the hands. I use white wall cleaner and a hose to clean off the old dirty filter and redo it.
