Rear driveshaft removal 07 Sportsman 500

Hi guys I have everything apart but can't figure out how to seperate the driveshaft from the transmission in the rear, does it just sit in place or is there something holding it in?

From the service manual:

Pull sharply outward to remove shaft from transmission. Install a new lock ring upon assembly.

Awesome man thanx alot this forum is awesome, anybody know what the typical cost from polaris is for a boot kit, that will be my best option for now to get it going, but I for sure think a boot upgrade is needed!!
