best way to clean my air filter?

My filter has oil on it from a spill i took on the quad, whats the best way to clean the filter? Or am i better off just buying a new one?

I use starting fluid. It cleans the crud off great and doesn't hurt the filter. It also dries fast so you can get it back together quicker.

Buy a new one.Better yet buy a good aftermarket UNI or K&N and you can clean them next time this happens

I tried to reply yesterday and it didn't post, operator malfunction I guess. But I didn't think you were ever supposed to get a paper filter wet. I like to use starting fluid on the pre-filter right before I toss it into a sink full of hot soapy water. And nothing but air to clean the filter itself.
