Whats the difference between an 07 Hawkeye and an 08 Sportsman 400HO?

I'm having trouble finding aftermarket accessories for my 08 Sportsman 400HO but find plenty for the 07 and older Hawkeyes. Are they the same? Whats the differences, if any?

I read in a magazine, that it was mostly just the larger engine. I have couple of Hawkeyes that my kids ride and the 400sp looks almost exactly the same. I'd think that engine mods wouldn't interchange but that most others would.
They have been reliable and much easier for them to control then a similar sized straight axle bike that we also own. Good luck with it.

Well the first thing i wanted was a different muffler but since the hawkeye's had a different engine then the exhaust is probably different?

Check and see if there was a Magnum or another quad with the same engine. Or ask the dealer whatever you need to know. A good dealer will help you with a lot of things like that even when you're buying aftermarket stuff they don't sell.

Is the Haykeye 300 really a 300 or is it a 330? I thought if it's a 330 then maybe some Magnum or TrailBoss 330 parts would fit.

The New 400H.O uses the 455 motor from the full sized 450 Sportsman. The motor has been around since 2006.

The 300 Hawkeye is a 299cc. Same frame as the 400 h.o but with smaller tires.

OOPS. In my earlier post I was trying to figure out what would fit the Hawkeye. The 425 up to 500 are all pretty much the same engine except the bore and stroke. I don't know what kind of pipe would fit the mid-size frame. The mounts are probably a lot different than a full-size Sportsman. I hope you find what you're looking for.

The Hawkeye is 299 CC but is basically the same frame and body panels. Eng and PVT are different. The frame and rear IRS are slightly different. There are double the # of grease nipples on the 400. The battery is in diff location. The 400 seat is thicker and attaches different way. Racks (accessory) fit either. Polaris cover for Hawkeye is a couple of inches narrower than the 400.
