unhook reverse rev limiter on 94 400L 4x4
#1
I have a 1994 400L 4x4 and the reverse rev limiter kicks in when you are going forward... and you cant get it to quit so you can ride it home. We have a Clymer Manual and are servicing the clutch, replacing the needle and seat in the carb, and replacing bushings in the rear swing arm... while we have it apart we would like to unhook the rev limiter if possible... It is not addressed in the manual... also where are the best places on the web for used/aftermarket parts? I have been getting the part number and searching google for them which works ok... is there any better way?

polaris has an online parts finder, polarisindustries.com as for the black wire, trace black wire from reverse override to the front control board under the front plastics and rack, and disconnect it.

What parts are you looking for? I just gutted a 98 xplorer(needed the motor) and maybe some parts will work for you?

There should be a black wire coming off the limiter.Follow it to the wire block and unplug it.

I have a 95 Sportsman and had the same problem and had to disconect the black wire from the rev limiter. The manual didnt really show where the rev limiter was so i had to go online to a parts fiche to zoom in on it. Should be behind headlight.
