Vbike 250 utility

While waiting on the starter issue to resolve I added something new to the Vbike for my own use. I was at Walmart and they were doing a remodel and had some things on discount. I dont usually buy from the local Walmart here for personal reasons. But, there was this "RubberMaid" molded box and it looked to be just the perfect size for what I had in mind. When I get off in the woods here I tend to "overpack" . Binoculars, metal detectors, caps, gloves etc. I wanted some place to put the cell phone , keys , wallet (just in case it came out of the pocket). Then too I carry a pistol with bird shot for scaring unwanted creatures. The box was ony $15 bucks and when I got it home and put it on it fit perfectly on the rear carrier with 4 ubolts.

I see a lot of views of the post , only one remark. Thanks I know its not for everyone but then to me the Vbike is a pack mule not a flyer. I use it on forest roads getting me up and down mountains and back into places where most people havent found the places yet. It serves it purpose well and at a price far less than any well known brand name. And I have to brag on Tim at Vbike in Edmond. The part service might be super snail mail . but he is honest and works for his customers before and after the sale . A sale isnt just another check in the bank and forgotten Actually I didnt even use the phone to call him on the problems I used his web site email and got a phone call back within hours of hitting the send button. And he called me back on his dime. Send in the defective part and he sends out a new one no questions. Cant beat that for service .

I am going to do the same thing. I was looking at a contico box similar to that one. It may be the same one. The one I was looking at had cup holders on the top and I believe it was sold as a SUV box. I was going to do something like this http://www.montanajacks.com/in...=VIEWPROD&ProdID=365.
I was going to put a pad on it so not to hurt the backbone! Might want to put one on yours too, wife might not like a sore back....

I am looking for something like one of those square throw boat cushions or a stadium seat and going to put velcro on it to the back for the wife and of course me as a back rest when I am riding alone
I looked at that site ghcoe looks like $249 for about the same thing as I got for $15 and does about the same thing. My $15 box may not be as fancy but it has a tray in it like a Pick Up bed box and is just about big enough I can put everything I want in it for a day or a ride in the woods. I usually put binoculars, a camera, the metal detector, a couple of shovels , a pair of boots . some extra .22 bird shot , the pistol (for those unwanted little crawly things that wont give up) a place to put the cell phone ,my wallet so it wont fall out, the truck keys etc. and of course a sandwich and a jug of water .
Like I said my Vbike is more of a pack mule than a flyer

Leessum,
You mentioned in a past post that you had to tighten down your front shocks. What type of noise or feeling were you getting? The reason I ask is that I am getting a kind of noise - like - well like a loose shock - when the front of the bike kind of lifts up over terrain. Not sure if it's just the shock being completely expanded or what. I can't seem to recreate it by lifting up on the bike myself but it's there when I ride. Anyway, was just wondering if perhaps its the same as yours and just loose. Appreciate any help. Tom

Stand in front of it and lift up some on the front like using the front brush guard. Lift enough to take the pressure off the shocks and kinda let it drop some up and down motion . if you hear a metalic clink clink sound like two metal pieces not tight together its possibly the top end of the shock. I had to take the front plastic part off which isnt too big a deal to get to the top of the shocks. If this what you hear and have to do this there is a large round washer like plate on top of the channel cross member on the top of the shock with 4 notches on opposite sides , take a punch or similar object if you dont have the right wrench to do the job. I just used a punch and hammer and tapped it tight . it only took a 1/4 turn to do the job . Tap it tight about a 1/4 turn and lift the front again and see if you still hear the clinking noise . if it lessens tap it a little tighter and try it again .
