Default sputtering

Today I was rideing in this ditch it not really deep only in some parts. I rode up and down it like 4 times. Then when I went in it again I kinda hit this deep part the water only went up to the oil filler cap. The atv sounded like it was sputtering and about to die but it dident. So i got out the ditch because I dident want it to die in the water. When i got out the ditch i kept rideing and it sounded fine. Whats up.

Haha. just asking was your exhaust under the water a little. Cause if so, that is were the sputter came from. i have a 06 rancher 4x4 and a 2wd 05 rancher and have had water over my seat. and i have no snorkle.

You probably submerged the breather tube on the carb. I'm not talking about the intake on the airbox, but just one of those little plastic tubes that lets the pressure equalize. Usually isn't a problem, but now and then it happens.
