Default oil tank breather line

Hi

I have my 99 sp 500 apart and noticed that the oild tank breather line that goes form the top of the oil tank back to the air box has a spilce in the line. their is also a white paint make beside it, its a clean streight cut. Is this suppost to be there? Do they come from the factory like this?

Should I change the line?

thanks

They are made like that the slit is suppose to be there. That is the line you pinch to prime the oil pump also....
