hello i have been looking around for a new machine and i find that 400Ex have a very good review on reliabiliy and everything. I have only one question for other 400Ex owners. Do you ever find them at a lack of power or speed? Because i want to know about there top end speed and torque.

 

There is a fair amount of hop-up potential in that engine, with some simple mods like a header, muffler, opening up the airbox, aftermarket air filter, and of course a rejet.

I like this engine for the trail, because it has a torquey low end. I can put it in 1st gear, and idle through the rought stuff with no clutch work needed. It's the world's best tight trail quad!

On the top end, it is a bit slower than the Z400, and of course the 450's and 700's.

 

i have a 400 i ride it every where from hills to mud half way up the engine it has alot of low end for all the big hills and mud the top end i am very happy with but keep in mind my bike has a 440 kit huge jet kit pipe air box and cdi and coil even when the bike was stock it was strong on both ends i would recommend the bike to anyone with a little money you will have a bad *** bike

 

ok thanks. I like the honda Sportrax 400 the best out of the 400 class. But i was looking at this for reliability and i herd they were great to ride. I was looking into them because you can get them pretty reasonable but i was also looking into the Sportrax 450 and the YFZ 450. I would like to see the deference in power.

One other question. How much do jet kits cost. Like example a 440 like ddeaton said he had.
