Default Grizzly 660 Takes the Baja 500!!!

Just thought you Grizzly enthusiasts would like to hear this. My team and I competed in this year's Tecate-Score Baja 500 in Ensenada Mexico. This was a grueling 441 mile race through the deserts of Baja California. The ATV classes for these kinds or races are dominated by suped-up sport quads; however this didn't stop us from completing the race on a STOCK 2007 Grizzly 660. That's right.. no suspension, exhaust, steering stabilizer, or anything of the sort. The Griz performed outstanding and we finished the race in 17 hours (three hours ahead of the cut off) with no problems at all (with the exception of one flat tire). We were the only utility quad entered in the race and finished 10th in our class. You can check out the results at www.score-international.com
We are prepping for the Baja 1000 as well and would love to see more Grizzly's out there!

I have tons of pics if you would like to see them!!

TS

Congrats!! Now that is Racing!!! These Nascar / Indy clowns can **** off! hahaha

I believe in 2003 or 2004 "Mouse" rode the Baja 1000 all by himself on an XR650R Dirtbike!

I guess the title is a little misleading...

wasn't trying to be misleading with the title..
I just think it is a feat in itself that a stock Griz finished the race. There is only about a 65% finishing rate in all classes, including the million dollar trophy trucks and Class 1 buggy's

Ya, Mouse is a true champion, it was 2004 i think. he finished 12th overall after a huge wreck and with no lights. The movie Dust to Glory follows his story. Great Flick!!

Yup - Dust to Glory Rocks !!

You are correct - just finishing the Race is a Feat! If I ever hit megabucks I am going to do the 4 or 7 day Wideopen Baja Tour

I hear that tour is fantastic!! Funny thing, a wide open baja buggy competed in this years 500, the word is someone actually rented a four seater 1600 and actually finished the race!! did pretty well too. What a riot!!
