Default Battery removal

Just getting time to relace my original battery, Undid the terminals and battery strap, Can't seem to lift it up. If I slide a screwdriver down the sides, it wiggles a little but still won't lift up. My service manual mentions removing a cover?? or is it just five years worth of sh@# underneath?? Am I missing something else to undo?? Thanks

It should pull straight out when the strap is off. Did your battery swell up? I had one freeze and it did.

Default Battery removal

No, it's been on a battery tender in a heated garage since new, when it was outdoors, it never was that cold.(maybe explains why I got five years out of it huh??)still holds a decent charge but not as strong as it should be. Thanks

Default Battery removal

its most likely has alot of crap holding it in as it should slide right out.

Default Battery removal

I finally got it out by clamping vice grips onto the terminals, It was really tight in there but also had alot of debris underneath it. I replaced it with a AGM from Batteries Plus $101.00 OTD. One year warr. My old original tested at 11.5 so I guess it was getting weak but not bad for a five year old battery. Anyway I'm good to go, heading to northern MN. next week for a week will test it out. Thanks for all your replies to my post. Later

make sure the new battery has a full charge before you use it so it will last longer. new batteries usually charge for 8 hrs on a slow charge they say. just an idear.
