Man I've been round and round with the click, click, click and in the end as long as you have not been doing any work on the bike it's the battery. You will probably check it with a meter and it will read 12v and your lights will come on so you will think I'm full of $hit but the most likely reason is the battery. Second to that it will be the starting relay but the fact that you hear a click means the relay is engaging. You can chech the starter if you want to pull it off and bump it to a good battery. Let me know how it turns out good luck.

click click click means the battery is too low. try cleaning the terminals [the bolts] before you spend a ton of $ on a new battery - you may not need one yet.

raptor8 is correct when I was going through my problems I have several guys tell me the fixed theirs by cleaning the connections or they had dirty contacts in their on/off switch on the handle bars. Just take the battery to a auto parts store and get it load tested before you buy a new one. By the way I don't know what brand auto stores you have but I bought my battery at a Auto Zone for $64.99. 20 bucks cheaper than walmart.

I have an 01 as well and just replaced the battery about New Years... not bad 7 years out of a battery. get a good one, sealed gel cell if you can. then it'll start right up.

Thank You Faponce, very polite of you.

man i had many clicks with my 60. but here is a good test for your battery. i made a set of jumper cables from some speaker wire and clips. i would jump it from my other quad. it no clicking and it starts right up, well time to get new battery. and if i have clicking,, well time to get out the electrical meter and start looking. but most of the time i found the batter is weak, might hook a charger on it or i need to get a new pattery. i have a 660 and a 350. so over 5 years of having both,,i think i bought about 3 or 4 batteries. those jumper cables on a ride, few buddies left lights on and they had a clicking sounds. but good luck!!
