Default Raptor 660 cooling fan

I have an '01 Raptor 660R, and the fan never seems to come on? Fan works, thermoswitch is new, and I get continuity on circuit breaker?? The heat light also never comes on? But the bike runs fine other than that. I just worry about overheating it, and I'm not quite ready to jimmy up a direct switch to turn it on. Any ideas??

Mines never seen the desert, but it has seen 90F heat. As well as difficult, technical trails with alot of reving and no air speed! Not once has it come on? I may replace the circuit breaker just to rule it out. I'm affraid if I wait to long I'll cook the motor, and everyones machines I ride with fan comes on multiple times per ride?
