i think you would be alright down around 3 psi as long as you dont hit any rocks hard. i run 4 to 5 when we go mudding w/ my xtr's. imo.

Say hello to my brother if you see him down there. He rides there almost every weekend with his crawler.
His name is Mark and his rig looks like this... That is him in the black shirt in pic 2

I thought lower tire pressure on rocks caused more tire punctures.

the tires will mold to the rocks better for greater traction. if its a sharp rock it might give a little better instead of cutting it imo.

That's what I always thought.
I run 3 - 4 lbs.

Lower pressure for rocks is a good practice. You just don't want the sidewall to be bulging out too far. The sidewalls can get sliced up either way. Higher pressure for mud and snow to get down to a harder surface. In my rock crawling here in New England, I haven't had any problems with using the manual recommended 5 psi in each tire. It crawls right up and over. I've gone over 2 foot wide downed trees using the skid plate like a ski and popping the front end over and dragging the rear over. I've gone up more than a few rock faces that were nearly vertical and had no problems as long as they were less tall than the length of the wheelbase. I'll try to take a couple films next time I go up riding.
