Buying my first quad.

Hello,
I was going to buy a BRP Renegade 800, but it's very expensive a little bit less then $20000. So I need something cheaper. I think Renegade 500 is good as well, but I also heared that Yamaha is good. I'll way for you suggestions.
Thanks in advice.

Yak spravy, @nt?
Would a European brand be cheaper? There aren't many to choose from that I know of. But I think it would be easier to get parts for them in Ukraine than any of the American, Canadian, and Japanese brands most of us have.

I would pick one of the solid, long time proven machines from Honda, like the Rancher or Foreman. Won't have as much so called "performance" as the Renegade, but they will last trouble free for decades.

Can AMs are over priced.
You can pay more for less Polaris 800 vs Can AM 800
Bottom line.
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>We'll give the Outlander more power, with faster acceleration but that's all</end quote></div>

still too hard for me to choose.
Here's what I want:
1. 4 wheel drive.
2. not very expensive.
3. about 500 cc (for the first quad it should be enough)
4.High practicability. I need a quad only fun. you can imagine where I would drive it. As well as in Russia here in Ukraine there is no roads. It's only directions.
5. It should be reliability.
Name me particular quads pls.

Honda Foreman 500
Honda Rancher 420
Suzuki King Quad 450
Suzuki King Quad 400 (formerly the Eiger)
Can-Am Outlander 400
Can-Am Outlander 500
There are many others int he 400 to 500cc range. The major manufacterors all have proven and reliable bikes in this size range. For where you live, the decision may be made by what you can get.

Whatever you do, don't buy a "limited-slip" 3-wheel-drive. I believe Polaris has the most to offer at any price. The 500 Sportsman H.O. was recently named BEST IN CLASS: BEST VALUE ATV by All Terrain Vehicle Magazine. http://www.atvmag.com/article.asp?nid=998
Can-Ams are way too expensive. Hondas are notoriously underpowered. The Sportsman 500 EFI has almost as much power as a Rincon 680. I like my 500 EFI so much I'm buying another one just like it, except I'm getting my favorite color this time. There's no carb, so there's no need to re-jet no matter what the altitude is. There's no choke either, and it starts instantly in the coldest Michigan winters, but I don't know how well anything starts in Ukraine winters. The Sportmans have Independant Rear Suspension, and the cushy ride is like a Cadillac.
If you don't want a Polaris, I would still reccomend a 500, TRUE 4-wheel drive, EFI, IRS, and an automatic transmission. That makes a great first ATV. Or a last ATV.
