I just got a 87 big bear 350 4x4 the brake foot lever is missing, there is a spring and a cable that is coming from the reverse cable itself, where does the other end of the cable conect to ?

this cable I am speaking of is gray has a loop on the end if you pull it you can shift into reverse, so it looks as if the spring goes to the foot brake lever and the cable goes ????? where??? anyone
