I just bought a k&n air filter for my raptor and it will not fit on the bike. any suggestions?

Where did you get it from and what bike is it designed for? I wouldn't risk sucking dirt into the engine by trying to rig it up to fit.

 

it is the model number that k&n has on there wed site. but there is an aluminum piece that the other one clamped on to and the opening on this one will not fit on that piece. modelya-6601

 

Sounds like the old filter was a "clamp-on" style and the one you bought is a factory style. You should be able to remove the aluminum piece and install the filter you bought, or send the one you bought back to K&N and get the clamp-on style, which is more favorable if you plan on running with no airbox top.

 

you need the clamp on filter. the box has to be cut to put the aluminum adaptor in. the stock replacement wont work on your airbox
