Default 06, 450 Wolverine problems.

I have an 06, 450 wolverine and it is cutting out on me. It will start fine, idle, and rev a little but it starts to cut out really bad when I try to give it more throttle.

I thought somethings wrong with the fuel or water in gas so I got some treatment and new fuel and put in it. (It was almost empty anyways)

It didnt help any. I had a jet kit, and pipe put on it a few months ago, but I dont have any other upgrades. Any ideas?

Make sure the air filter is really clean. What size main jet are you running. It sounds like you may be way too rich. Where do you live (altitude) and what mods have you done?

cadams:
I think your carburator is dirty, you should check it and clean if necesary. (adding a fuel filter may be good)

Hey derrelw, i thought you had the #88 grind webcam. Did you changed it? If so, what diference did you noticed betwen them? and compared with stock? (how's tour low,mid high end after that?) sorry so many questions, but you seem to be the only one that have tried both of them, and your imput could be very helpfull...

cadams84 do you know what size your main jet is? I went from a DJ140 this winter (40 deg. F) to a DJ130 this summer (90+deg. F)

Joaquin I did change the cam. The 88 grind was great for mid and upper range power but I lost low end torque. I think it would work great with a higher compression piston (11-1 or higher). The 956 grind gave me way more low end and mid range than stock. With the clutch work and this cam it will just about climb trees now! I can't wait to try it with the 488 kit next spring.

Dirty Carb I'll put money on it. You should extend your vent line for your carb and bring it up higher. After that you problably won't have a problem
