2003 Banshee Tranny Problems
#1
I have a 2003 Banshee, a friend was riding it and he said it just died like it was out of gas, he tried to kick it over and it wouldn't start, he said he al;so tried to pull start and it wouldn't. Now i had rode it 10 minutes be fore him and it was perfect, when he got back (being towed) the clutch was hard to pull so i looked and where it hooks to the clutch cable on top of the motor it was bent so i bent it back down, but here is the kicker, it will shift like it is goin into gears but accutally is not engaging in a gear, all gears roll like nutueral, i have no idea where to start. how could the 2 problems be related and what the hell did he do to the tranny? Thanks for the time guys! j

Buy a gasket for the clutch side, open it up and take the clutch out (it's just a couple bolts you don't need a clutch puller for the banshee clutches) take it a part and look at the plates your clutch is probably worn. Check the oil level in the case, you probably didn't have enough and the clutch could have got toasted, it's probably just your friction plates, or something else but not the trans. The trans might be done, cause you shouldn't be able to roll it in gear (when it is in gear is there any pull, if not something has gone bad with the gears cause they aren't catching).

alright i took apart the case and got to the slutch, the clutch plates move. Is this normal, i can move them when i am holding in the clutch or when it is released. Also the oil level was perfect, but my buddy said he was dragging it starting in 3rd, so i am sure he burnt it up, he offered to pay. Also, the bike feels like it does have a little engagement when i push it now, but deffently not in a gear. when i take the clutch out will this let me know if it is goin to go into gear or not? Also last thing is what kind of clutch do u like for banshees. Thanks for the help guys!

send me a private message and I will give you a number to call. They will tell you everything you need to know about anything and give you pics. I can also get you OEM discounts on parts through them since I have hook ups and they do a lot of my work. MIKE
