Check for availability of aftermarket parts. I remember a friend who's wife has a raptor 250 saying he can't even find a pipe for it! Surprising, but not unbelievable. That may be the deal breaker, as I know the blaster has an endless amount of aftermarket parts available, and will likely have many used parts available if you want to save some $$$$. The blaster is a great atv, very fast when modded out, my son raced one for a couple of years. I haven't ridden a raptor 250, but it may ride better than the blaster (the blaster's suspension sucks!). I would lean toward the raptor, but if you can't get aftermarket parts, I would go with the blaster!

The Raptor 250 is becoming one of the biggest entry level race bike ever made. Thre are now race series even dedicated just for the 250 class. Parts are starting to show up by the hand fulls and I believe that this bike should become just about as big as it's bigger brother the 450!

The Raptor 250 motor has actually been around for some years now in the Tricker and now the XT250 motorcycles, and it has a solid reputation. The tricker is still not available in this country (big mistake Yamaha!), but the XT just became available here this year.
