Hopefully someone on here can help me. 2 times while riding my 400 the reverse, temp and neutral lights have flashed on for a couple of seconds then back off. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

ive got the hawkeye which is similar. does it act like when you turn the key at first where the electronics start up and it all comes on and then goes to speed? it might be something like a loose wire and when you go in reverse it could cause it to loose power just by something bumping against a wire or something like that. but thats just my guess.

 

i think theres only 1 main harness(plus a smaller one that goes to lights)that goes to the key switch so maybe thats got a bad connection. check the grounds/battery conns. as well. if its w/ in the warranty, take it back tot he dealer and let them fix it.

Thank you for the replies. Yes it's still under warranty, but the dealer is about 25 miles away. With 4+ dollar gas I wanted to try and check some of the easier things myself. I will look at the wire harness connectors/battery to night. Going riding tomorrow!
