Deposit on 09 850 XP

Congrats!
I am in the process of working a trade in on my 08 800 for a EPS XP850. Looks like they are claiming to be getting limited numbers until next year. Wonder if that is true or just a ploy to get everyone to rush out and put down deposits. I really only want to trade for the PS, I am about to get shoulder surgery and PS would make it alot easier to ride.

I had the end of my collar bone cut off so it quits rubbing on my shoulder. I was missing all of the cartilage that should have been 1/2" thick. I worked so hard it just disappeared and worked for another 10 years after it starting hurting bad. The doctor also took out some bone spurs and sewed my rotator cuff back together after slicing through it to do the rest of the operation. After 6 months of physical therapy, and not working since the operation, I can ride again and I don't need PS. I still have arthritis in both shoulders, and every vertabrae in my neck and back, but at least the bones aren't grinding together every time I move my left arm.

Wow, and I thought I had it rough. I hope your surgery goes well Highoctane and you recover quickly so you can ride again. Sounds like you might need the ps. The dealer I talked to said that for every 100 XP's Polaris makes, about 25 will have the EPS, and his first shipment will be one of each color of the 850's without EPS, and only one with the EPS. So it does sound like the quantities are limited.
Good grief Jumbo, I wish you the best of luck with all your health concerns. Sounds like a lot of real pain to me. The dealer also said that the nex XP's should be a lot easier to steer with the redesign and the double A-Arm front suspension, that if you don't have a problem steering the other Polaris Sportsman models you probably won't need the ps, a $700 option, thats why I'm not getting one with the ps.

I also heard the XPs steer easier. I haven't wanted power steering since I bought my '01. The '97 was b*tch to steer and I mainly used it to plow the driveway after I got the '01. When people say how bad they need PS I always wonder why. I'm very weak for my size and full of arthritis and I still manage just fine, even though just being awake causes me pain. I'm glad we have people like you Opie who are willing to be the guinea pigs on the new models. I'm waiting awhile.
