Default LT80 seized?

My daughters 2004 LT80 was driving along and died. Tried starting it and the starter is ticking. I got home and checked the battery and it is fine. I pulled the starter and it is fine. Now I am wondering if the motor is seized. Is there an easy way to roll the motor over to see?

The little clutch cover where the pull start would go should expose the front pully. You could turn it from there.

He may be able to stick his fingers in the pull starter hole enough to try to turn it.

You can take the air boot off that's above the fan (right side) and turn the fan.

Pulled the left side cover and tried to pull the belt and appears that it is seized. Any ideas on what this is going to cost? I spent the extra money and avoided the Chinese ATV's to avoid repairs. This has about 250 miles on it. Are these prone to problems? My son has the same ATV. Should I look forward to going through this twice?

LT80's are very dependable motor wise. I'm sure there is more to this story that we don't know yet as far as to why.
Parts and bore should be around $100. Please use Zuki parts.
"I spent the extra money and avoided the Chinese ATV's to avoid repairs"... But every machine needs maintenence. You been cleaning the air filter?
Try moving the fan like I mentioned just to make sure. If it's stuck, then take the top plastic off and remove the head. We'll see what's going on then.

I pulled the boot on the right side and didnt feel a fan. Do I need any special tools to pull the head? Sounds like you would be a handy neighbor to have around!

Also, I cleaned the air filter this spring so it has about 75 miles on it since then. I didnt realize there was no way to start these when the battery dies. I live in Wyoming and where we ride it is very remote.

A 10mm socket is all that's needed to pull the head.
