Default Help! 97 King Quad

The main fuse on my king quad keeps blowing as soon as you turn the key on. I have checked all the wires and everything is fine. I un hooked the cdi and the rectifier and it still blows as soon as you turn the key. Does anyone have any info or had the same problem? Could it be the ignition switch? Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Default Help! 97 King Quad

I hate to see your first post go unanswered, but I highly doubt anybody is going to have a solution for you. Somewhere you have a short.... Maybe a wire touching the frame or another wire that you didn't see??? A bad relay??? My suggestion is to grab a digital voltage meter and start poking around. I'm not aware of any known issues with the electric system in the king though. And it doesn't seem likely to be in the switch, but I guess anything is possible. The DVM should indicate its condition though. Let us know what you turn up.

Thanks for answering JustRandy and I did find the problem there is 1 wire that splices and feeds 5 wires and they were just coroded back into the sheathing. The connection just had no protection only a bare splice. but thus was done by the factory.

I figured it would be something like that. Good thing is not some issue with something expensive!
