I got my Quadovator stuff the other day. Reverse lock for plowing, work light switch, fan override, and temp gauge.
I thought I'd try to mount the temp gauge down where the choke and diagnostic post was on the older machines, being my computer hookup in under the rack that hole was free.
The ring in the pod where the choke went is the same size as the gauge 1.5 inches. So I used my hole saw and punched it out. I made a angle ring out of pvc pipe and wrapped it with extra wide electric tape. The tape in the same finish as the bottom of the pod. The angle ring is 22.5 degrees.
I think it looks sweet where I put it and with the angle you can see it at most any position, I know it would be 100% visable on the top of the pod but I want to use the last knock out switch hole for hand warmers. So thats why I put it where I did.

Nice gauge install!
Mine idled at about the same RPM for the first 20 hrs or so, now it idles around 1250. Spec. is 1150 +/- 100, and the book calls anything above 1300 a "high idle" But IMO as long as it is not hard to shift or creeping it is fine. Matter of fact i know some techs who set the idle on the high side of spec. to remove some of the lag in clutch engagement. I would check the cable adjustment and if that is good I would roll with it as long as it shifts fine and does't creep.

Talking about the pics.......Nice, ..But what do you guys think about the needle speedo(MPH) gone for 2009?
I drove the new 2008 A/C TRV and it has the full digital speedo display and it's hard to see somethimes during the day!!........
Just thought I would ask,Don't know if the Polaris will be hard to see or not..........Caper..........
