After they order the parts, tell them you want to take it home until the parts come in. I've done that before.

interesting coincidence...the gauge on my 400 HO quit working a couple weekends ago! Instead of the needle measuring in the marked range on the upper portion of the guage the needle is pointed downward...guessing the needle broke loose of the guage shaft or the float has lost bouyancy

Ive had this happen on lawn tractors in the past...same kind of setup.

Wondering if just the guage can be replaced or the whole tank since the guage seems to be sealed pretty good!

the gas gauge is the same thing im pretty sure on my hawkeye and i thought it was sealed, but all it is is just a big rubber cork jammed into the hole. you just have to be careful and slow taking it out and putting it back in, cuz it is stuck in there pretty good and has ribs that make it hard to put back in.

took to dealer today said he would order part and call when it gets in,i looked at the gauge
with center plastic cover off looked as if were glued in,but if its like a cork it shouldnt take them long to fix it,i wish it was digital gauge, mine does the same as yours jokout,if i tap on
side of the tank and it will move

Use the trip meter as a gas gauge for now. I set it a zero after a fill up and when I see it getting close to 100 miles I know I need gas soon.
