Default 1998 Badger Front Brakes

I just bought a used badger and I am trying to change the front brakes, but I not sure how to get to them. I can get the wheel off, but it looks like I might need a wheel puller or something to get to the brakes. I appreciate any information on this.

after the front wheel is off there should be a nut with a cotter pin in the center of the hub. just remove it and slide the hub off. if need be, use a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer to lightly tap on the sides of the hub to loosen.

yea theres a castlenut with a cotter pin through it, im not sure how that model is but u might have to adjust the brakes back so the hub will slide off. theres usually a little peep hole that u can stick like a flathead screwdriver through and gradually loosen the pressure of the shoes against the drum. its like this on some bikes but im not sure bout urs.

I have been able to get the nut and cotter pin off,but it looks like the bearing and seal maybe holding the hub on. So I should not need a wheel puller or any special tools to finish the job. Here is a link to the drawing that show the brake down. http://www.sargescycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp . Thanks again for all the help.

I did get the hub off, but now the bearings are bad, so I need to replace them. Are the bearings pressed in. I plan on being at the shop first thing in the morning when the open to get the parts, but if the bearings are pressed in I will get them to do them.

yea your talking about the wheel bearings i guess. yea there pressed in you gotta usually take it to a shop and have them do it just to be safe cuz u gotta have a torch and a press i think. the bearings luckily arent that expensive.
