wolverine issues
#1
i have a 07 wolverine and my battery died a couple weeks ago at first i thought it was the celanoid but that wasnt it so i went out and bought a new battery charged it and went riding. i went to go riding a couple days ago and my battery was dead again. the only other thing i can think of is the stator is bad, but i dont see how that can be the quad is barely a year old. i dont know if maybe i have a loose connection somewhere between the stator and the battery or if the stator just got wet and dirty. i really dont know any suggestions would be great thanks.

hey i bought a 06 from a guy and brought it home and it was doing the same thing. it was a bad connection to the voltage regulator which is mounted to the left of the shock if you are looking at the back of the four wheeler. i got to messing with it and wiggling it and could make it turn on and off. a couple of the prongs on the regulator side were a little burnt and werent making good connection. i have a 03 raptor and robbed the regulator off of it and it hasnt gave me trouble since. it is about 2" by 3" with fins on it with about 4 wires going into it. may be worth a shot. also stick a voltmeter on the battery with it running and it should be up around 13.5 v. it may take a minute to get there if the battery is dead but after it starts it ought to be at least 13.0v and climbing steadily.

also if you put a volt meter on it and it is charging then you need to be looking for something drawing it down after it is shut off. if it is showing like 12.6 volts and holding steady or after a couple minutes drops to 12.5 and then to 12.4 then it isnt charging.
