When you hit the starter button you can hear it click as if the starter is trying to spin the motor. The battery is brand new so I am thinking the starter relay? Or, is there a way to test the starter? I took it off and the starter did not do anything when pulled away from the crankcase.

Any hints on what could go out rely, Vol. reg., starter???

Thanks.

It was the relay for the starter. I had to go get a universal car type 12volt relay and it worked! Go figure. What a PITA that was to figure out.
