Anybody know what it entails?

An whatever became of the bad frame welds by the tank on the early ones also? Did they do a recall or leave it up to the individual to worry about it?

We have 2004 Ozarks. As far as I know the "notchy" shifting is on all years of the Ozark. Is this what you mean by "hard Shift?"

If this is what you mean, there is no cure. It's just part of owning an Ozark.

Don't know about any frame problems.

hehe.... I don't know what you mean by notchy, I'm talking about the effort it takes to pull the shifter up into the next gear compared to my honda recon shifter.

The recon seems to be a lot less effort to shift than my ozark. Overall though, after owning hondas all my life (58 years) I would rate the Ozark right up beside the honda in just about all phases other than it being a little harder to shift.

P.S. I read somewhere on one of these forums that the dealer had some sort of a fix for this, and it was only trouble on the first an second year models of the ozark that this shifting problem occured .

Hi, I had the same with my 2006 Ozark when it was brand new. I almost took it back to the dealer because of this. But after ca 10 hours of riding it went away and since then the shifting has been perfect.
What exactly do you prefer in Ozark in comparison with Recon? I was also considering to buy Recon.

Well, I bought the Ozark used for the wife and it is already 6 years old. So I doubt the shifting will get any better.

Really, I don't see a nickels worth of diff IMO other than the Ozark does have 2" more clearance. I've owned 5 recons over the years an never had one lick of trouble out of'em.

My wifes has ao 07 Recon , I own an 02 Ozark. Other than the notchy shifting and not as much aftermarket parts as the Recon. The Ozark is a darn great quad.
